New Scrapbook Layouts: Switzerland

Hey all,

I've been scrapping again. I have made four layouts in our Switzerland album. I have about 200 photos to scrap (or more, I'm not exactly sure). And this was a five days short holiday break! Can you imagine! It was beautiful though, and so it deserved to have so many photos.

You can view all new layouts from here. Since we've spend our days in the mountains I thought it was fair to reflect that. I've done that in this LO:

The cloud holds the journaling. In the mountains I've hid information about our hotel, a little map and a postcard with a beautiful skyline! I've also included several photo folders. That way I could include all the photos without having to use a lot of pages.

I also like the Sherlock Holmes Museum layout a lot:

I've made a house in which you can find more photos. I've also included journaling on the inside.

Thanks for looking and have Fun!

I've managed to protect the gallery better....

Hey all,

I'd turned off the option to show the comments in the gallery due to the enormous amount of spam I had received there. Now I've figured out how to prevent that. I'm busy deleting the remaining spam messages and after that you can leave your comments about my LO's.

Have Fun!

Colleague with Cancer

Hey all,

This morning we were told one of secretarese has cancer in her lungs. It has also spread further. Right now the docters says she's "incurable sick". To say short: she will die.......

This really was bad news. It was shock for all of us!

Can't talk about it now. Maybe later.......

Cleaning up the attick

Hey all,

We've cleaned up the attick a bit. We've dumped several we didn't use anymore, like an old bed, three chairs and a table. These were all stored on the attick, but we didn't have any use for them anymore and they we're only taking up space. We've also thrown away some garbage.

It's nice to be able to clean up things. Although we're not done yet, it does feel good. Maybe I'll spend next friday cleaning the attick some more. Maybe I can store everything from the shop there too, so that it doesn't take up space in my hobbyroom and the bedroom anymore. That would be nice! Oh well, we'll just see!

I'll just look at it as an early "spring" cleaning. Okay, it's not spring yet, but it will do :)

Talk to you later!

Storm Damage

Hey all,

It turns out the storm from last Thursday did some real damage to our house. Our Roof window in the attic has been blown away. So, next thing we did friday was buying a new window and install it. We needed Saturday also to finish the job, but it's finally done. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos. When you know that it's goign to rain you really want everything to be closed on time. And it indeed rained, a lot! Thankfully we had everything closed in time, so the attic wasn't too wet, but it's not an ideal situation.

We have decided we want more windows in the attic roof, so we're probably going to that somewhere in the summer. Then I will take photos so that I can add these in our "Our House" album.

Have Fun!

Weather Alert

Hey all,

The KNMI (it's an official Dutch weather institute) has announced a weather alert yesterday for today. We're going to have a heavy storm (which you would expect in the autumn instead of the winter) with strong winds and heavy rain fall. The last time they did this was exactly a week ago. Before that it had been a while.

Last week there were damages of about € 15 mln. Can you believe that? I wonder what the damage will be today. I hope we won't have a problem with our house. I don't expect it to, but then again.... you never know. Let's just hope for the best!

It is supposed to be winter now. It's supposed to be a lot colder and not this kidn of weather. Climate changes? DO YOU THINK?! It's incredible. I really hope somehow we'll all find a solution to break this pattern that is growing. The weather we have now is a kind of weather we should have had several months ago. So it's really time we're all taking action!

So, support the World Wide fund for Nature, Greanpeace and everything else you can think off! And not only that! Take action yourself! There are so many things you can do, so don't hesitate!

Talk to you later!

Not keeping up my resolutions......

Hey all,

I'm ashamed to admit, but I haven't kept my resolution for my weight loss thusfar. I've eaten to much candy and I haven't paid attention to my "diet".

I really need to do something about, so tonight I'm going to pay a visit to the gym in our village. I'd like to know how everything is there and maybe start there as of today. I really need to get that starting!

This week I've started drinking more "tea" (well, hot water without the tea bag) instead of hot chocolate at my work. That's a good start, isn't it? And I'm going to buy a little notebook which I can put in my bag, so that I can really keep my eating diary on a daily basis without having to be at a computer to write it all down.

Well, talk to you later.......

Gathering information

Hey all,

Now that we've decided we're getting married, I'm gathering as much information as possible to make sure we make all the neccessary preperations. I do want to take the time for our preperations so that we can really enjoy this time. I'd rather marry in about two years and have had fun with the preperations as well, then marry in about a half year and have problems.

So, right now I'm checking out sites, searching for brochures and I'm talking with people who already have experience in this "matter".

We more and more like the idea of getting married on a tropical island, just the two of us, and then give a diner party for family when we're back from our honeymoon. Maybe we'll attend a "Love & Marriage" event to gather more ideas. We'll just see about that.

Do you have any ideas about getting married far away? Let me know!

Regards,
Ilse

We're getting married!

Hey all,

Yesterday James asked me to marry him! He asked it in such a nice and romantic way! But that's our little secret. We want to keep it to ourselves how he asked :). I didn't have to think about my answer at all, since I see it as an official confirmation (or however you wanna call it) of the feelings I already have living in my heart for a very long time!

We haven't set a date yet or anything, but I'm so happy!!!!!!

We've told my parents and my brother and his girlfriend tonight. They were expecting something, since we had told them we had some news to share, but they didn't know for sure what it was. So it was a surprise for them too.

Now we can start getting all the neccassary information and look for ideas for our wedding. We don't know yet how we want to do it all, but we're not in any hurry.

Well, I don't know what to write more, so this is it for now!

Talk to you later!

New Year's Resolutions

Hey all,

It's still September when I started this subject, but I do want to start with my New Years Resolution already. Usually I don't do this, but I think it's good to have a fresh new start for this year for once and having New Years Resolutions may help with this. I'll divide my resolutions in a few categories to "make it easier" on myself.

Health

  • Loose twelve kilo's of my overweight (which gives an average of one kilo per month...)
  • Sporting in the gym at least once a week

    Scrapbooking

  • Make at least 2 layouts per month, which gives a total of at least 24 layouts for this year.
  • Make one mini album for each family member for their birthday
  • Make one mini album for each friend of mine for their birthday
  • Make a birthday scrapcalander (better do this in January so that I can keep up with all the birthdays.......)

    Scrapping Memories

  • Make at least two example layouts per month
  • Have one new line or brand of products at least once a month
  • Keep current customers happy
  • Do a little something extra for current customers each month
  • Get more new clients

I'll do a monthly check in to see if I'm making it with my New Years Resolutions.

What are your New Years Resolutions?

    Talk to you later!
