Hall of Famers & Creating Keepsakes & New design from Karen Burniston
Hey all,
This morning I was browsing the Creating Keepsakes site for the Hall of Famers. I'm impressed by the work the 2007 winners have done! It's really amazing! I hope I'll be able to participate in the Hall of Fame contest once. In the rules it says:
Okay, granted, I'm not a USA resident, not Canadian, English or from Wales. But I hope one day my work will be published in Creating Keepsakes and that will make me a contributor, right? So, would that mean I could participate? Oh well, let's think about when I'm actually published there :)
Contest is open to all who are legal residentsof the United States, Canada (Excluding Quebec), England and Wales, including contributors to Creating Keepsakes magainze and winners of previous contests sponsored by Creating Keepsakes magazine except winners of previous Scrapbook Hall of Fame Contests.......
It is too bad though, that the Creating Keepsakes (and other contest as well) are usually only for the residents of USA and Canada. I'd like to participate in these contests, but I'm not able to....... Oh well, I can only hope such a thing will one day be done here in the Netherlands.
Creating Keepsakes
Talking about being published in Creating Keepsakes, you know I submitted Italy Layouts for the Italy call, do you? Unfortunately I haven't heard anything, so I guess I didn't make it. Too bad. Maybe next time.......
New designs by Karen Burniston
I'm working on the Scrap-a-Ganza album again and I needed the supplies list for the Weather comes to Mind workshop. So I went to Karen's site and I found that she has some new interactive designs again! I love the Flip-Flop Summer Layout. Just look at the flip-flop on the right side. It's lovely and so funny! It really gives that {little} something extra for someone who's looking at your layout. And to top that, it gives you the possibility to add extra photos and journaling. That's wonderful!
I think I might give it a try myself, albeit without the description. It is something for advanced people {according to the site}, but somehow it seems familiar to me. It looks a bit like the Tag pull out book she used. So this might be something I'll do in my Switzerland album. Or maybe even sooner, in my Scrap-a-Ganza album, but I'm not sure about that yet.
One more new layout she's made is the "Inner Circle". I love the way she shows the possibility to pull out extra flaps out of the circle. And she managed to make it in a way that the flaps are stopped to prevent them from sliding out all the way. Beautiful! This is one I'm not sure of if I would be able to figure it out myself. Oh well, I'll think about that later on......
First, let's get back to the SAG album. I hope to be able to finish the "Weather Comes to Mind" workshop pages and the Weekend Schedule Page. When I've finished those two, I want to continue with my Switzerland Album. As I said in the beginning of my holiday I hoped I would be able to finish our Switzerland album before I have to get back to work. Right now I highly doubt I will have finished it, but I'll see........
Talk to you later!
