Back again :)

Hey all (and especially Dawn!!!),

Thanks for checking in with me regular. I'm soooooo sorry for not being around so long. I kinda got caught up IRL and I got caught (I must admit that) in a fantastic (new to me) game called Puzzle Pirates Let me tell ya everything about it!

Jobcoaching
Unfortunately I couldn't start my course in April, so now I'm starting it in September. However, I could walk along with a few jobcoaches these last few weeks and it was fun! I had a great time. I'm sooooo looking forward to this new profession! It so different from my current job. I can work WITH people and really help. I like that :)

Scrapbooking
I have to be honest and admit I haven't been scrapping much lately. However, with this new game (I'll tell you all about it, I promise!) I can Scrapbook as well for a contest :) This is soooo much fun! In a few weeks time I'll have a two weeks holiday and I'll go scrapping then. I really want to finish our Switzerland album and I have so many other photos I still want to scrap.

Puzzle Pirates
I told you before I was hooked on the various versions of the game Tradewinds. Well, I still like this game, but I missed a few things. Once you had done all the assignments, there was not much to do but make a lot of money. You couldn't buy a house or anything else, you couldn't get more assignments, nothing. And I wanted to do more than only get my scores up. Someone told me about Puzzle Pirates and I decided to give it a try. I didn't expect I would love it this much. Granted, you don't get assignments, but you're playing with a lot of people together. After all, it is an online game. Like they say: a massively multi-player online roleplaying game. You can choose whether you want to pay or not. Although, if you're not paying, there are several limitations to the game. I started with a free account (you can always upgrade it to a paid account) and tried it at first. As I said I didn't expect much of it. As far as I had understood it, there were no assignments to fulfill, nothing. But as it turned I fell in love with the game and subscribed. Let me tell you more about this game.
Starting your pirate's life
First, you have to choose on which ocean you want to play. There are two subscription ocean (on which you can also play if you have a free account) called Midnight and Cobalt. Midnight is an ocean which has been developed quite a lot already. Cobalt is a fairly new ocean (only two years old). Then there are three Doubloon oceans (Viridian, Sage and Hunter). Here you have to pay for doubloons to be able to buy things and to get certain ranks. I haven't played on one of these oceans yet, so I can't tell you anything about it yet. There's also a German Ocean and a test ocean. I chose the Cobalt Ocean in the end.
Once you've chosen your ocean, you first need to "make" your pirate. This means choosing the gender, the hair style, the hair color, the skin color and the name. If you choose a male pirate, you also have to choose a facial hairstyle. After that, you can begin. You'll land on an island with nothing more but rags. You're lucky, 'cause the governor of the island will also grant you a shack to live in. And then, everything's up to you!
Missions
It's fun to start with learning more about ye'r pirate life. You'll get a special mission called "Loot yer home" in which you'll get a bedroll and a slated crate. And you can pick the rat that scuttled in as your pet. After that, it's all up to you! There are several more missions to choose from. But you can also decide to work at a shoppe (three contracted jobs is the maximum) or go on pillages. However, if you want to go on a pillage, it is wise to start with a few missions with the navy to get some piracy skills.
Piracy Skills
If you're not interested in getting a rank above Pirate (subscribed), you might not worry about your piracy skills. These skills are often used by crews to see if they can promote you. BUT, practicing these skills will also help you be a better (part time) crew member on the ship on which you're on during a pillage. So, all taken together, it is wise to practice your Piracy skills. And what are those skills, you may ask. Well, there are several. Let me start at the beginning. When you don't have any experience at all, you can start with sailing, bilging and carpentry. The better your skills get, the more options of piracy skills practicing you'll get. There's also gunnery, navigation and battle navigation. These are all puzzles (yes, puzzles) you can play by yourself. There are two puzzles for Piracy skills you'll play with more people and those are swordfighting and rumble.
Your Piracy skills are "judged" on experience (how often you play the puzzles and how good you are with these puzzles) and standing (in regards to other pirates on the ocean of your choice). It's not always easy to get a good experience and standing, but it's soooooo fun to play the puzzles and slowly see your skills getting better and better! And this all brings us to the goal of the game.
Goal
The main goal is just to have a lot of fun. You're not playing this game to end (reach the last level) it (like with many offline games). Instead you're playing this game for yourself and you can set your own goals. In example, you can decide to play it and become one of the pirates with the best piracy skills on the ocean. Or you can play it with the goal of having as many successful shops as possible. Or you can play it with the goal to form your own crew. Those are just a few of the many goals you can set yourself. You are totally to reach the goal you want. And the beauty it, you define the goals. There are no given goals, there are no levels to reach, nothing. But how do you reach these goals? And I was talking about shops. "What's this all about" I can hear you think. Let's elaborate on that.
Shoppes
I know, normally you'd say shop and the plural is Shops. But, in pirate language, you'll use shoppes. There are several shoppes / stalls you can buy (I won't go into details right now), like an apothecary, a weavery, a tailor, a shipyard, a distillery and more. Of course these are all fictional, but it's all fun! Before you can buy a stall, you need to earn money (Pieces of Eight or poe). You can earn poe by participating in pillages and blockades, working with the navy or by working in shoppes. And you may sometimes win poe in a tournament. And it's completely up to you which way you choose to earn the poe you need.
Once you've got enough money, you can buy a stall. But that's not all. You also have to buy commodities (the ingredients). And you have to make sure you've got enough pirates working for you (the labor you need), so that you're able to make all the products which are ordered. believe me, it's fun discovering it all.
Houses, ships, crews
And the shoppes are not all there is to discover. I told you, you get a shack once you start. Well, look at it as a small one-room apartment. But you don't have to stick to that throughout your entire pirate life. Once you've earned poe, you can buy new and bigger houses. There are 10 different type of houses to choose from, each varying in price.
And not only can you buy houses, you can also buy ships. And that's where your piracy skills come in handy again. Cause buying a ship is nice, but if you don't know how to navigate, you can hardly use it. And an officer can do a lot of things, which a Pirate can't do.
Having your own ship is nice, but it's even more fun if you're actively participating in a crew. After a pilly many captains will ask if you want to become a full member of the crew. That's nice, because this will give you the possibility to grow in rank (only officers and above can promote someone). And you'll have several people you can ask for help Maybe it's just something you don't know that you want to ask them, or maybe you'd like to set sail with your own ship and you want people to help you on the journey, you'll find it easier to ask your crew members then when you're not in a crew and you'd have to figure out everything for yourself.
When you've got enough experience, you can also start your own crew. But, you'll need at least narrow experience in several piracy skills, as well have a deed of a ship (proving that you are the owner of that ship) and you have to be subscribed. I would advise you, though, to first participate in an existing crew, so that you can learn everything you need to know about how a crew works.
Conclusion
I think this is about all I can tell you about it. I know that I love it! And that's also why I haven't been here for a such a long time. It's an addictive game! Go and give Puzzle Pirates a try.

For now this is it. I'll be back for more! Have Fun!

Becoming a Jobcoach

Hey all,

As I told you before I'm looking for a new job and I know what I want to do. I want to become a jobcoach. Because I was so ill last April, I couldn't follow the training for jobcoach which started then, so now I have to start the training in September. I'm already looking forward to it! In the meantime I'm looking into a practice time (in Dutch it's: stage) with a few companies, so that I can get an idea already. And since I'm not working in this field of expertise I also have to find a place to have practical period for about four months (next to my training) to get the experience I need. So, this summer period I'm going to talk to several people to see what I can arrange. I can't wait to start with something new! Can you imagine that you're going to do something completely different? At first I couldn't imagine it, but now I'm totally at ease with the idea and I can hardly wait to start with a new job, where ever it may be.

Just a quick update for the rest:
I'll post photos for the Photohunt this weekend (I'm hopelessly behind as you can see) and I'll show you some new layouts I've made last weekend.
I'll also post the Scrap-a-Ganzaphotos later on too. I can't show you the photos from the album yet, because I still have to have all the SAG photos printed and I still have a few projects to finish of which I want to include photos too!

Have fun and Talk to you later!

Long Time not written

Hey all,

It's been a while since you've heard from me. I'm sorry for that. I've been quite busy with several things, including a conference in Germany. I hope to have more time later on this week, 'cause I still have to let you catch up with everything from Scrap-a-Ganza, the conference and many more things!

And I'll post some new photos for the Photo Hunt again!

Talk to you later!

What did I scrap Sunday (#4)

Hey all,

I haven't done much scrapping this week. I've been working on getting things printed with the Creative Lettering Delights companion. However, I'm having troubles with that. Either the transparent alphabets are not printed correctly or the transparent Journaling Delights are not printed correctly. With this I mean that when printed (if printed at all), I get a print like I've zoomed in too much, so it's not looking sharped, but rather pixelled. And that's of course not what I want. I've contacted technical support about this already. I hope they'll have a solution for me, cause I'm all out of ideas......

I've been working a little bit on the SAG album again. I've gone shopping for bigger screws. I've found something in the hardware store. I'll show you that later. And last but not least I've been working on a new layout again, but that's not ready to show yet.

I'm going to ask James if he can take a few pictures of me, so that I can finish the Forum Friendship cards. After that I'll order those online and also photos from my scrapstudio. I already have a rough idea for the album. But before I begin with that album, I want my SAG album to be finished. Once that's done, I'll work on my Scrap Studio album.......

Talk to you later!

Do you have a holiday in Europe?

Hey all,

Do you happen to have a holiday in Europe and are you looking for a hotel? I've found a great site where you can pick the right hotel for you: Eurobookings. I found this site while looking for hotels for someone else. I think it's a wonderful opportunity to book a hotel without to much hassle! You can book immediately on the website and you don't have to pay a reservation fee. And they have a lot of other benefits!

Easy booking
You can easily book from the homepage. Just fill in your destination or choose one from the list. Once that's done, choose the check-in and check-out date and hit the search button. You'll be presented with several hotels to choose from. And you can immediately book a hotel by clicking the Book Now button. What more can you want?

Hotel Guide
As I told you, Eurobookings has more benefits besides the No Reservation Fee. You can also find an extented Hotel Guide. This your place to read reviews about hotels in several countries. You're not only getting the basic information about a hotel, but also more information of the surroundings and places to visit. That way you can start planning your vacation easily. Especially if you're like James and me, trying to find fun things to do and visit during our holiday. And we're taking the "The Pleasure starts when your start planning" part serious! This site is ideal for these extra tidbits!

More features
I guess you don't want to go without a car. I know James and I don't. If we can't take our own car, we'll rent one. It so happens that you can book a rental car through Eurobookings too! As with booking a hotel, booking a rental car is as easy as 1-2-3. And this helps planning your holiday so much! If you know you have a rental car at your disposal, you know can afford to go sightseeing a town or castle (yes, there are still several castles in Europe!) or something else which is not in the place where you are staying. And it's all because you have the luxury of a car!
And to top it all, those of you who want to book all activities in advance, you can do do that too through the Things to do feature. You'll have an extended list to choose from!

Go and have fun and don't forget to let me know how it turned out!

Talk to you later!

Mother's Day Wrap up

Hey all,

Although I'm not a mother, we were still busy with Mother's Day. After all, James and I both still have our mothers (we're so lucky with that!!!!), so that deserves some attention, doesn't it? Although James is not used to doing anything with Mother's day (it wasn't that important to his mother), I AM used to doing things and I know mom would be disappointed if we wouldn't have done anything. So, together with dad and Mark I prepared a few things and now I can finally tell you all about it!

André Rieu Tickets
My mom and dad already had tickets for BZN (a famous dutch band). When dad gave the tickets to mom, she said, she'd even more like it to go to André Rieu. Little did she know that we were giving her tickets to one his concerts too. Now they're going together to both concerts.

Scrapbook supplies
Mom has become an avid scrapbooker, just like me. Although she know how to find things on the web, she's not used to look for digital things you can also use in your "normal" scrapbooks. Personally I don't scrap digital either, but I've found several marvelous digital things to use in my scrapbooks. I thought I could let mom enjoy these things too. James and I gave here 5 printed alphabets from Lettering Delights (Ahoy, At the Beach, Compass, Dockside and Seashells). She got these specifically because she's working on a scrapbook for dad about our boats and more currently the boat dad and James are working on right now. These alphabets are perfect for that particular scrapbook!
On top of that we gave her a scrapbooking stack about dogs. I believe it was from Dejaviews, but I'm not sure. And we gave her dog tabs from Making Memories. So she can scrap again :)

Weekend in a hotel
Mark (my brother) and his girlfriend Kim gave mom and dad (for father's day already and for thanking for keeping their dog, Tess, for two weeks while Mark and Kim have a holiday in Portugal) a weekend away in a hotel of their choice where dogs are allowed (after all, mom and dad have a dog too, he's called Mick). I think that was a really nice present. Mom and dad were very happy with it!

Diner
Instead of my mom cooking a large diner we had a gourmet diner. I'm not sure what it's called in English. It's like where you are all cooking in these little pans on a grill instead of in a fondue. Am I making any sense here? We had a very good meal!

My mom was very happy with everything she had gotten. And that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Talk to you later!

Dreaming of ultimate Clubscrap Pizza box

Hey all,

As I said before I'm dreaming about the "Ultimate Club Scrap Hearty Appetite kit". Okay, it's not officially called this name, but that's what I call it! I've been a member of Club Scrap before (April 2004 - June 2005), but due to my RSI problems, I had hardly used the Club Scrap Kits. Then there came a time when I wanted to make scrapbook examples for my shop, so I mainly used supplies I had in my shop. Now I'm starting to use Club Scrap kits again. And I love it.

the Ultimate Club Scrap Hearty Appetite kit
Club Scrap has such a high quality for their kits, that it's hard to not love their supplies! I have several scrapbook projects in my head right now and since I'm scrapping more and more I think there comes time that I don't have any Club Scrap Supplies anymore. Of course I can buy supplies from other brands (I do that now too), but I still LOVE Club Scrap. So now I'm dreaming about a kit with the following supplies {Source: Club Scrap}:

  • Main Entree:

    • Papers — A healthy blend of at least sixteen 12x12s, and ten 8.5x11s of premium quality textured card stock and translucent sheets, perfect for both scrapbooking and cardmaking.
    • Goodies — We shop and create for you! Expect a discriminating and coordinated selection of fresh and innovative craft products to enhance your projects.
    • Sticker or Stencil — On alternating months you'll receive either a sheet of original Stickers or a 5.5x8.5 Stencil template, both exceptional methods of page embellishing.
    • Idea Recipe Cards — An indispensable tool for the perfect craft seasoning . . . a brand new FONT Card for you to trace and copy onto your projects, a BORDERS & BACKGROUNDS Card that offers coordinated images for unlimited uses, and a LAYOUT Card that hands you ideas on a silver platter!
    • Scrap Rap™ — A robust and colorful 8-page newsletter that's jam-packed with priceless ideas, techniques and projects from the CS® Design Team and our talented Members.

  • The Three Side orders

    • Wood Mounted Stamp(s) — Superbly artistic and perfectly coordinated original stamps . . . you'll receive one large or two smaller stamps in each kit.
    • Embellishment Pack — A delightful mix to your craft collection . . .:

      • One portion of hand selectedbeads, brads, charms, nail heads, eyelets and more
      • A set of perfectly matched fibers for each kit — 6-8 yards of 4 different styles
      • Twelve Photo Mattes at 6.25x4.25 that make matting and layering a piece of cake
      • Two 8.5x11 Tag Sheets that include combinations of printed and plain options
      • PaperCuts that equal two 8.5x11 sheets — exclusive CS® diecuts, both printed and plain

    • Greetings to Go — an exquisite variety and a cardmakers dream . . . :

      • Fifteen Scored Sheets for ready-to-make cards in an assortment of sizes
      • Fifteen Kindred Panels that are poised for accessorizing
      • Fifteen Coordinated Envelopes for instant in-the-mail capabilities
      • A portion of adhesive or a coordinated ink for on-the-go handiwork

  • Extra's from the à La Carte Menu:

    • Extra CS Paper Helping — A second helping of CS® paper
    • POP's — A luscious "pound of CS® paper" cut down to bite-size servings for easy crafting
    • StampXtras — Greeting {a touch of life's occasions} & Art Nouveau {a glimpse of life and art}
    • The Swatch Card — A catalog of your kit's paper swatches, designs and ingredients — a must for any future cravings
    • The Unmounted Rubber Set — Images right from the Idea Recipe Cards — Fonts and Backgrounds & Borders

This is indeed a huge kit! I know. But still......... Unfortunately the costs are a bit too high for me now. It all comes down to $110.- per month {It does have a retail value of $147.-, though!}. So, while I'm still scrapping with previous Club Scrap Supplies, I wish I could simply have the Ultimate Kit send to me every month. This would be so wonderful! Can you imagine this being delivered in, I guess, multiple pizza boxes {otherwise it won't all fit}? Imagine the mailman delivers this package to you every month! Right now I can only dream about it.

The reasons
And why do I want all those things? Let's see about each part, shall we?
The Main Entree
This is the best package you can get. There's also a junior package, but you won't have as much in it. Although granted, it does costs less also :). Anyway, the cardstock is from a highly quality. It's really thick. This makes it possible to have it as the main background and put it in a page protector when the entire page is finished. And that's what I like. I don't like these thin background papers with which you still need cardstock to give it the sufficient protection. And on top of it, the designs are all from Club Scrap! It's all original, unlike with in kits from other manufacturers! The goodies are always matching perfectly with the cardstock. Several of them are specially selected for Club Scrap and you can't always get your hand on it! The stickers are always great. Sometimes you get alphabet stickers and other times you'll get stickers with a certain design. The stencils are also very useful. With my previous subscription, I've already had a few envelop templates, drawings to fill with chalk or paint and much more! The Idea recipe cards give you layout sketches, and prints of the fonts and Borders & Backgrounds. So, if you're looking for ideas for your layout, these cards are excellent to use. And as a great bonus you'll get the Scrap Rap. You can see this as the Club Scrap Newsletter with examples for that month's kit, work from other members from previous months and sometimes a project description. This has given me inspiration for my SAG album already!
Three side orders
I love the quality of these side orders. The wood mounted stamps are coordinating with the kits perfectly. Several of them are unique for Club Scrap and come in limited editions. Can you imagine that? The Embellishments pack has everything you need. In my case I love the tags you get. In the past I've especially ordered sheets of tags, just because I liked the designs and because I knew I could use them somewhere. The photo mats have come in handy very much already in the past! And talk about the fibers. These are usually things I can't find in my local stores. That's why I always had these ordered too! The rest of the pack is as good too! The Greetings to go is something new for me. I understand that crafters in America have only recently started making cards. Here in the Netherlands this is something we've been doing for ages. As I see the description, I think this will be a wonderful pack for card making.
Extra's
The Extra helping of papers have already come in very handy for me with regards to a few projects. In the past I've ordered these separately when I found papers I really liked. It's just so easy to work with. The POP's are so great to work. Not only can you use them for photo mats, but you can also use them for journaling blocks, die cuts and much more! These weren't part of my standard package in the past, but I did order several POP's in addition to the kits I already had. What was standard in my order, were the StampXtra's. These were also specially designed for Clubscrap. Up until now I've only used a few of them, but I do see where I can use others already :). Another thing that's really good is the swatch card. This gives you a sample of the cardstock and the designs. This way you'll always know which cardstock belongs to which kit. And if you happen to run out of the cardstock, you can easily order it {assuming Club Scrap still has the necessary supplies}. One last thing I hadn't in my orders in the past was the Unmounted stamp set. However, in the future I would consider having this in my standard order. These are so beautiful!!!

Well this is about all I can say. Oh, one last addition: It's all such a high quality! Of course you'll "pay" for that, but if I compare it to other companies, I think this is great and you're not paying anything extra for the quality. Better yet, all taken together, I think Club Scrap is even better with their pricing!

Keep on dreaming
However, although I'm only dreaming about it right now, this maybe achievable in the future if I receive enough money from Pay-per-post programs and ad incomes. That would be funny, wouldn't it? Until then..... I keep on dreaming!

Blogging & Money = Pay Per Post

Hey all,

It's Friday again and as usual I'm surfing the net and searching for things for my hobbies {especially scrapbooking}. It's always so fun to search for new things, but it's even more fun to actually buy new things. And that's why I love Blogging & Money, as I call it. Writing posts for money gives me the opportunity to earn a little bit extra cash to support my Scrapbook projects! And don't get me wrong, I love my blog and I'll always continue to write here for myself {as in not paid!}. But making a few extra bucks to support my hobby is something I can't say no to, could you? So let's talk a bit about earning this little extra cash!

Pay Per Post
Usually I check the web about once a week for opportunities on Blogging & Money. As I told you before I'm using multiple companies for this. One of those companies is Pay per Post. This company's specialty is blog advertising. I can hear you thinking: "Why did you choose for this company?". Well, if you haven't read any of my previous posts, here's why {and in a way it's simple}: This was the second company that accepted my blog for ads on blogs and the first company where I had several posting opportunities almost instantly. With Pay per Post I also get more opportunities available when my stats {visitors and other sites who link to mine} are improving, which is of course very fun!
And although Pay Per Post has it's basis in the United States, bloggers from all over the world can participate here, as long as you have a Paypal account. And that's the beauty of it. Nowadays it's very easy to get a Paypal account. I have an account for several years now, so participating with Pay Per Post is no problem for me!

Posting for Pay per Post
Pay per PostI've been writing for Pay per Post since March 3, 2007, so it has been about 10 weeks ago that I started. In that time I've taken 5 opportunities {6 with this one included} and earned $35.50 with those opportunities! That makes an average of one opportunity per two weeks and $7.- per opportunity. This might not seem that much to you {at least if you're looking for a way to earn a lot of money with your blog} but I see it as a start. When you start a new job in an area of expertise where you haven't worked before, you don't get paid the highest salary from the beginning either.
Although it doesn't seem like much at the moment, things are changing. Granted, they change slowly..... Since my stats have improved I'm seeing more opportunities with higher payouts available. In fact, I've found about 5 possible opportunities yesterday. I'll have to dig into them a bit deeper, so that I know what to write about, but it's a good thing.

Meeting new people
One of the fun things is that I've gotten to know a few new people too. Pay per Post has a Blog of the Day and I regularly check those blogs, just to see what these posties are writing about. It's fun to see the sites and I happen to come across some scrapbooking sites as well. That's what I really like a lot! Another way of meeting fellow posties is through the forum from Pay per Post. We're all exchanging ideas and learning from each other. That way you can really lift your blog to a higher level. And not necessarily for more posting opportunities, but also just for in example improving your writing skills.

What I've learned since blogging for money
As I said before, I'm not only blogging for money. I'm blogging for me. That's my starting point. Many people use their blog as an online diary, as do I. That's why I'm always using opportunities that actually mean something to me. I've learned very soon not to take each opportunity I see. The best way for me to write about something, is when I'm really connected to the subject, one way or the other.
While writing about those subjects and visiting other peoples blog, I'm also learning to improve my writing skills. That's something which will always come in handy. For instance, I have a job where I have to write several big and small texts / plans and I have to make sure it's something everybody can read and understand. Writing in my blog and improving my writing skills helps me to make me better in my job.
One last thing I'm beginning to learn is how others blog for money. Some just take every opportunity they see. Others really only take the opportunities they have "something" with, like me. I think the latter is the best way. It makes it possible for you to really write a post "from the heart".

Downsides
And of course, it's not always "Rozengeur & Maneschijn" (the icing on the cake). The fact that you'll get paid only 30 days after you've written the posts is a downside for me. I have to wait a full 30 days before I get paid! On the other hand, this is not something I do for a living, so it's not THAT big of a deal. I hope I'll be able to pay for my scrapbooking hobby in the future. For instance, if I would make enough money per month to pay for one of the big kits at Club Scrap. I'm dreaming about the A la Carte Club Scrap Hearty Appetite. Granted, it costs about $110.- per month {excluding shipping costs to Europe} but it has sooooo much!!!!!!! I just love it!!!!! Anyway, that would mean I have to make about $150,- per month, if I want to have shipping included. I can dream, can't I? :) Until then...... I'll just dream, and finish the stack I still have from the time I was a member, but hardly could use it, due to my RSI problems.
Okay, back to the downsides. One more downside is that it takes a few days before your posts get approved. I'm alway curious if I've done the right thing and in those cases I'm not that good in waiting for approval. On the other hand I do understand they have a lot of entries to check, so they don't have the time to finish everything in a day. And another plus on this subject is the fact that {like I said above}, once your post has been approved, you'll get paid 30 days after you've submitted your post and NOT 30 days after your post has been approved. That makes a huge difference!
One other downside is the fact that I have the idea the actual advertisers are hardly reading the blog entries we write. I've hardly heard of any comment advertises actually made on an entry. It would be good to know what they think of your entry. At the same time I know this is also a tough job for advertisers because it's possible they'd have to check dozens or hundreds of blog entries. So the time to check them all........................

Goals
As I told you before, one of my dreams is to be able to pay for my hobby entirely with earnings from blog. I think I'll reach my goal some time in the future. I know several Pay per Post members are making quite a lot of money with their blog and they all manage to seamlessly integrate all their posts for Pay per Post into their blog. The top posters even make between $500.- and $ 900.- per month. So I know it's doable! I'm really looking forward to a bit more money then $30.-!

Having fun!
The most important thing for me is that I still have fun in writing those post. Having these opportunities does encourage me to write more about everything that's going on in my daily life, by the way. I get inspired by other peoples blogs, I get inspired by the subjects from the opportunities and much more! That is why I love to do this!

If you want to experience the fun as much as I do, use this sign up form to sign up instantly!

Have fun and as always, thanks for your comments!

Thanks for all you comments & sick at home.....

Hey all,

I want to thank you all for the nice comments! I really loved them! I'm really enjoying getting to know new people through the Photo Hunt. And you're all so talented!

Right now I'm sick at home. This time I'm sick with the Flue. I could have known...... James was sick a few weeks ago. He was sick for four days. I just hope I can get "back to work" tomorrow. I should have started a course yesterday. This course would take up four days this week (morning part, afternoon part and evening part). Two more days should be done in May and two more in June. After that's there's a wrap up in July. So, I really need to get going. Otherwise the next one I can follow is in September....... I just hope.........

New feature: "Font download"-Tuesday

Hey all,

A few days ago I browsing through my Fonts and saw I had hundreds of fonts. I think it's fun to share some of them with you every week (except when I'm on a holiday!). That's why I've started this new feature: Font download - Tuesday.

In this first download I want to share two fonts with you which I'm currently using in my Scrap-a-Ganza Album. It's Pen Tip and Walt Disney 1.4. You can download them here. Just click the link and the download will start automatically. Have fun! Don't forget to show what you did with the font!

From New York to Paris....... According to Google directions

Hey all,

On another blog Asara's Mental Meanderings I found a great thing!:
1. Go to google.com.
2. Click on Maps.
3. Click on Get Directions.
4. From: New York, New York.
5. To: Paris, France.
6. Click Get Directions again.
7. Then, read line #23.
8. Laugh.

Personally, since I'm living in the Netherlands, I don't have to undertake this adventure. Otherwise, hmmmmm......................... swimming. Intersting option. If I only had a few weeks or months off for this adventure........

I think someone with Google has a great sense of humor!

What's your opinion on this?

The "verdict" from the vet

Hey all,

Now we know for sure what Whiskey has. She has a cancer tumor. Now we stand for the terrible choice:
Do we let the vet operate her and remove her uterus or do we let her go to sleep? the expectation is that she will fully recover, but due to her age (she's 7 now) she'll probably have a year, maybe two, left to live. Rabbits of her size usually get about 6 - 8. It's a hard decision. The operation will be stressful for her (as is any operation, just like with us) and {and yes, we do have to look at that aspect too} it will cost a considerable amount of money (somewhere between € 100,- and € 150,-) so it's not nothing.
On the other hand, right now she has a chance of a full recovery (the cancer hasn't spread to her lungs and that's a huge good thing!). And of course, suppose we'll put her to sleep, we still have her sister (Irish). And we already know Irish hated the fact that Whiskey wasn't there for a few days (when she was in quarantine inside our house and with the vet). So what will it do to her if we'll put Whiskey to sleep.

So, it's a tough decision we have to make. The vet will come some time this afternoon to talk a bit more about the options and everything that comes with it. And then James and I have to decide what to do this evening. It's not something I'm really looking forward to...........

Talk to you later.

Sneak Peek for Scrap-a-Ganza Album

Hey all,

Although it will be still several more weeks before Scrap-a-Ganza actually happens and before I can really show you my entire album, I thought I'd give you a few sneak peeks. These are all from a layout about the workshop "Weather comes to Mind" (or Seasons) with Karen Burniston. I'll tell you all about it later on!

Thanks for looking!

A funny thing: My visual DNA

Hey all,

On a blog I came across today, I found something called Visual DNA. It seemed fun so I decided to check it out, It turned out to be fun indeed! You pick images in certain categories and these pictures together form your visual DNA. Here's mine:

You can get a lot our of this. Let's "analyse" it!

Mood
According to: Imagini

I'm a DREAMER. I can be both calm and peaceful. And I like to feel free to explore my environment.I can be a little nostalgic and I love revisiting familiar places and memories. Wehn it comes to art I appreciate the natural beauty. I take time to soak up the nature favoring the coastline and countryside to the city galleries. As for music it's the soundtrack to my world. I've got to grips with downloading and my MP3 is at hand. It gives me focus and concentration. I might find it hard to switch off. My choice of treats show I love being a bit naughty. Being good all the time is boring. I've got a good sense of fun and maybe an infectious giggle.
Well, most of it is indeed right. Perhaps not the music part, but that's okay :) The rest seems to fit!

Fun
According to: Imagini

I'm an ESCAPE ARTIST. I love to be far away from my everyday life. I love the sun and like to live life at a slower pace than most - I know how to take things nice and easy. For kicks I like to switch off and immerse myself in another world. I'm a thoughtful and imaginative - I like to look at life from a different perspective. Cultured and creative. When it comes to holidays fun is top priority. I love to get out and see as much as I can: a chance to spend time with friends and family. It's
How did they know??? It seems as though they've taken a peek into my personal life (or perhaps my journal?). Okay, so they didn't. But it does all fit!

Habits
According to: Imagini

I'm a NEW WAVE PURITAN.Even if I have a healthy approach to life, I still have my little vices that keep me going. It's all part of the routine. I'm a creature of habits. Clean and pure, my choice of drink shows that on the whole I care about my health and I make sure I'm putting the right stuff in. As for the home, I have a very cool and contemporary taste and see myself as a bit of a trendsetter. I like my surroundings to be simple and stylish like me.
Okay, well I do indeed have certain habits, that part is true. And I do care for my health but with my chocolate addiction it's not easy to keep it in shape. However, the part of home is really incorrect. I chose the bed room photo because of the space it seemed to have. I really like to have space around me (see my Scrapstudio!). It's not a certain "trend" I'm looking for or trying to set......

Love
According to: Imagini

I'm a LOVE BUG. For me love is all about long-term commitment, it means devotion and tenderness. When I think of freedom, I think of being in charge of my direction. The open road and a full tank can take me pretty much anywhere.
This is all so true! I've found the love of my life in James and I do think this is for eternity! As for the direction.... I do like to be in charge, but I also like to go where the road takes me. Travel to where I don't know things. You see my point?

See the comparison to others here

So, what's your visual DNA?

Happy Easter! & How to spend it!

Hey all,

I want to wish you all a happy Easter! I'm a religious person, as you might know. So the religious goal and history is not my peace of cake. But I do like the idea that this is some kind of beginning of Spring. It's all nice and things are starting to become colorful! That's another way to look at it, I guess.

How we spend this Easter Sunday
Since we don't have any children (or nephews or nieces) we don't have to hide easter eggs. Up until a few years ago I did buy Easter eggs for our parents and my brother as a treat, but since they're not all eating them I thought this was in a way a waste of time and money. So, instead of celebrating Easter with the traditional Easter Eggs (hunt), we invited my parents for diner last night and today we just did nothing. It's so wonderful to just do nothing for one day! We slept in, we had breakfast (well, what else should you do?) and then we just did more or less nothing. James took a nap at the couch and I have sat in the garden, next to the pond. I love watching the pond. You'd think at first it's something static, but it's soooo not! Just look at the fish, the frogs (we have a few new ones this year again!!!) and all the little organism and you know the pond is filled with life. And it's not the same for a few minutes. When you keep watching you'll see something new regularly. You see the fish doing crazy stuff, like eating with four of them on one spot (can't they spread out in the pond?), frogs popping up (trying to figure out if it's safe to bathe in the sun, perhaps), little bugs, flies and more. It's so full of life! I can spend hours watching the pond. And mind you, I didn't have the waterfall activated either!

So, it was a wonderful Sunday today! Let's hope the weather tomorrow is as good as it was today!

Whiskey is still with the vet.....

Hey all,

Yesterday late in the afternoon I took Whiskey to the vet again. James hadn't had the possibility to go in the afternoon earlier (he still wasn't feeling well), so I decided to go. Around 20:00h they called to say that they indeed did find blood in her urine as well. And there's still a "lump" in her belly. They want to make X-rays so that they can see if it's her blather or uterise or something else. To make sure she wouldn't get more stress, we decided to leave her there for this last night. This way they can make a photo whenever it comes in handy.

We hope to hear more about the problem this afternoon. I'll keep you updated!

BTW, Isolde, thanks for your support!

A sick rabbit

Hey all,

One of our rabbits, Whiskey, has lost parts of her furr. Now you would say that's normal in this time of year and I'd agree with you. However, she's lost much more then normal and we think she's very skinny. So, we took her to the vet yesterday. She couldn't find anything with our rabbit, but she advised us to keep her separated from her sister for a few days to see if her urine and feacies are correct. Whiskey got medication to improve her appetite and something extra with the same effect.
We put her apart last night and gave her some carrots. This morning it turned out she DOES have blood in her urine. We thought she didn't but due to the fact that Irish and Whiskey are in the same cage together it's hard to check. I'm glad we found this out. But now we have to go back to the vet. I hope we can go there this afternoon. The sooner we know what's wrong, the sooner we can help Whiskey.

We'll just wait and see. Talk to you later!

We've been to the zoo!

Hey all,

James and I went to the zoo today. This time we went to "Diergaarde Blijdorp". Lucky for me my headache was finally away so that I could really enjoy today's trip! I hadn't been to Blijdorp before, so I was I glad James suggested to go. It was a very nice trip. The zoo has a lot of variety of animals and lots of information with all the animals. And they have a beautiful "Oceanium". It's like a very big aquarium under which you can walk and watch all the fish swim. And Blijdorp is one of the zoo's where they are actually growing Coral (officially accorded by all the necessary authorities!!!). They have done an amazing job with it. I really like the zoos where they take good care of the animals and which are participating in programs to get back almost extinguished species! And Blijdorp does that! It's wonderful to see!

I've made hundreds of photos again! This time I'm going to chose a little bit less to have printed and scrapped. Or at least that's what I think now. I still have a stack of Switzerland photos to scrap and I have a lot of photos from our last trip to the zoo (Emmen) to scrap. Well, it's just another week and then I'll have two weeks of holidays. I think I'm going to spend a considerable amount of time scrapping so that I'll at least have our Switzerland album finished and maybe the Zoo album of Emmen partially. That would be nice!

Anyway, I really had a wonderful day and I'm very happy James suggested this trip!

Have a nice weekend and talk to you later!

Bloodwork and having to be sober: not suitable for me

Hey all,

I went to the hospital last Tuesday to have my blood taken for tests. For these tests I had to be sober, meaning no drinking (besides some water and tea without sugar) and no eating. Well, this shouldn't be too hard, right? You're right about that. Not eating and not drinking is not too hard. The only problem is that I'm used to eating about 06:00h in the morning and they couldn't take blood sooner then 08:45h. Before I was doen it was three hours after my normal eating time. And when I eat too late (or too little) I get a headache. And this it was no different. I've had something to eat, right after they took my blood. The headache still came, but seemed to be managable. But then I had a meeting from 12:00h until 13:30h and afterwards no time to eat. And so I ended up with a raging headache. And unfortunately it's still not over. It's managable now (mind you with painkillers), but I can work........ I hope I don't have to have my blood taken for tests again any time soon.

As for the rest, I'm still working :) And tomorrow, James and I are going to a zoo here in the Netherlands (Diergaarde Blijdorp). I'm looking forward to that! And of course I'm still working on my SAG-album!

Talk to you later!

Holiday coming up......

Hey all,

I have a holiday coming up. Let's just say I have it planned in my schedule (no, not the Scrap-a-Ganza Planner I was talking about earlier!) and I still hope that James can arrange it with his work too. We're both so much in need of some rest!

We've been talking a couple of times about a holiday in the sun. We're not "sunbathers" but we do like warm weather. Albeit not too hot! A few colleagues of mine have been on a holiday last to year to Spain, the Canary Islands to be exact. I'd like to go there one day too! It seems so perfect! Warm weather, nice people, good food, in short: all you can wish for! Maybe this is also what we need at the moment. A nice warm country without too much hassle. And mind you no too expensive either! And with work on our house, our wedding and Scrap-a-Ganza coming up, it might be nice to have a "cheap" holiday, don't you think so?

I remember when we were in Italy 4 years ago, James stated at one point he'd be willing to live there. We saw some houses (no, not on the inside) that looked very nice. Well, maybe he'll say the same about Spain. Ah, but we've seen this British television show where people we're moving to Spain to build a new life there. And they we're mostly buying houses that needed a lot of work to make it for what they wanted. That makes it a bit more unattractive to go there. Maybe they should have looked at Spanish Venture. They are professionals in selling a wide variety of houses in Spain. As they say on their site:

Spanish Venture welcomes you to the foremost selection of property for sale throughout Spain, with expert advice on hand from highly experienced Spanish property consultants.
Our website is updated daily in order to bring to you the latest offers including apartments, townhouses, villas, fincas, beach property in Spain and Golf property in Spain.
What more can you wish for? I've been browsing their site for a bit (you'll never know what idea James might have if we were going to visit Spain!!!) and I came across the Costa de la Luz Property, a few vary nice houses! Can you imagine having a house with a view on the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal? I can just see it right in front of me! There are several things in development there. If I look at this:

I can only imagine what life would be there. But I think it would be very nice, don't you think? I think with this company those people from England who moved to Spain, wouldn't have had to live in such disastrous circumstances! Better yet, if they would have been willing to, they could have bought themselves a house with this in the backyard:

Back to OUR holiday instead of someone else's life. This is just too much daydreaming! I've got to stay focussed, but it is something to keep in mind. You'll never know when you hit the jackpot! And Spain does sound nice!

Still tired.... not Pfeiffer.....

Hey all,

Forgot to actually post this, so here goes.....

I'm still tired a lot and the medical people can't seem t find what it is. It may have something to do with my asthma (reduced lung function), but improving my lung function doesn't automatically mean that I will not be so tired anymore. According to my doctors at least. So I was tested for Pfeiffer last week, just to be sure and the verdict?: I have had Pfeiffer in the past, but not the recent past (from now up to half a year ago), so it's earlier then half a year ago. The only thing is, they can't tell how much earlier. It's possible that it's a year ago, but it's also possible it has been ten or fifteen years ago....
That's why I went to see my own doctor (in dutch we call them "huisarts") to see if he can do anything. He's ordered a full blood work to see if something else can be found. I'll just wait and see....

Talk to you later!

New roommate

Hey all,

Here in my little corner of the world I have a new roommate since today! She's here to stay for a week, so please give a warm welcome to Much more than a Mom! She talks about everything in her daily life! Her blog is very fun to read and I think many parents can recognize certain things about their children in everything she writes!

Have fun!

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Hey all,

Before I forget (again) I want to thank you all for your nice comments about my scrapstudio! I love it indeed and I have already spent a good time in my new studio. I'll tell you about it later on. Right now I can't show the project I've been working on (and finished) yesterday, because it's a gift for James. It's his birthday tomorrow. I'm giving him a mini album and a homemade coupon for a new tool. He wants this tool, but I don't know which version. So what better way than let him choose it and I pay for it, right? :)

I'll show you the mini album tomorrow.

My new greeting Cards have arrived!

Hey all,

My new greeting cards have arrived! My neighbor accepted them for me yesterday! That's really fast. When I gave the order, the shipping would take about two weeks. Well, apparently everything went smoothly, since it arrived so soon! And they look great, don't you think?:

This is the card I'll use as one of the things in my Forum Friendship Card Swap. This way everyone will have all the data they need in an instant! I need to make 24 cards for this swap. Since I have 250 greeting cards, I won't have a problem there :)

I'm soooo happy!!!

SAG 2007 not open yet & Greeting cards have been shipped

Hey all,

A few things keeping me busy today :)

SAG 2007
I've been checking my mails and the SAG site regularly now for news about SAG 2007, but so far there's still no news for the "newbies". When it's open, I'll let you know immediately!

My new greeting cards
I got a message from Vistaprint, telling me that my greeting cards have been shipped. So, I hope I'll have them in a few weeks. That way I can include them in my Forum Friendship Card swap. I've already made a design for it. Now I'll have to try it out. See if that what I have in mind will really work... but first.......

My scrapstudio
I'm still not done with my scrapstudio. This is mainly be
