Here I'll talk about the books I've read. Sometimes I'll just stick to a short opinion, sometimes I might elaborate.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Hey all,

I've read all six Harry Potter books up until now and I can't wait for the next, and last, book! I've just read that this book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) will be released at Saturday 21st July 2007! This is wonderful news. I'm gonna order it first thing Monday morning when the book shop opens up.

I think many fans, with me, can't wait to get their hands on a copy of this book! JK says it's really the last book. And she's always said that either one of the really main characters (Voldemort or Harry) has to die. I wonder who will die. It would be logical for Voldemort to die, right? After all he's the real villain, he's really bad and has killed hundreds of people and is responsible for hundreds, if not thousands more. Kinda like another bad guy we know about who's dead now.......
On the other hand, if Harry doesn't die, why should the books stop? He can go on, learn how to be an auror and many things more. So, if this book really is going to be the last book, why shouldn't Harry die? Just because there's a young audience too? Or because he is the hero? That reminds me of the movie "The Gladiator". The hero in that movie died too at the end. It was impressive. So it's a possible end. But somehow I don't think JK will do that.

There's another thing that bothered me. What about Professor Dumbledore? He's dead, right? But Dumbledore was supposed to be the only one capable of truly defeating Voldemort, although he didn't do it, because he didn't want to lower himself to using black magic. What does this mean? Will Harry have to use dark magic? Or will JK "pull a Lord of the Rings" on us and have Dumbledore return from the death, like Gandalf the Grey did? Or will we see another twist in this exciting tale? What about the secret weapon? Now that Voldemort has Harry's blood, you'd think the love of Harry's mother won't be such a strong weapon anymore, right? But Voldemort doesn't understand this "weapon". Maybe it can be the most powerful weapon Harry has. But how can he use it? Anyone who has any ideas?

We know one thing for sure. Somehow this story will end. At least if JK keeps her word and personally I think she will do that. So, if the story ends one of them will die. After all, one cannot be alive while the other lives. Isn't that what the prophecy says? I wonder........

I'll leave you with that thought right now. I'm curious to hear your opinions on this matter!

Harry Potter and......

Hey all,

I have been rereading all the Harry Potter books. I can't help but wonder what will happen in the next and last book. Is JK going to do a "Gandalf the Grey / The White" on us with Dumbledore? Has Dumbledore used the ancient magick he didn't want to use (remember, he was to noble to use this against Voldemort)? Has Snape really run over to the bad side, or is it all an act? And why didn't Harry use the same arguments against Ron and Hermione coming with him as he did with Ginny? Aren't those arguments valid for them? I wonder. Somehow I just think we haven't seen the last of Dumbledore yet. I mean, the funeral was all impressive, but wasn't Dumbledore not the one and only person of whom Voldemort was really afraid? Wasn't he the one Voldemort didn't dare to get into a fight with, one on one?
And what will happen to our hero? Will Harry survive, or will he not? Something tells me he will survive, just like Frodo did in Lord of the Rings, but he will never be the same. Will he be able to use the "weapon" of love against Voldemort? And how will this be done?

Who is this R.A.B.? Is he someone from Voldemorts past? I have been thinking about Hagrid. After all Voldemort was the one who was responsible for Hagrids early quit wiht the lessons at Hogwarts. There's one flaw in that one, though. His first name is Rubeus, but the rest doesn't fit.......

These are all interesting questions to which I don't know the answers. I guess all we can do is wait until JK has written her last book. What do you think?

Regards,
Ilse
